Rental Assistance Demonstration

The Rental Assistance Demonstration (RAD) program provides a powerful tool to preserve and improve affordable housing currently supported under the public housing, Section 8 Moderate Rehabilitation, Moderate Rehabilitation Single Room Occupancy, and Section 202 and Section 811 Rental Assistance Contract programs. Under RAD, properties are placed under a long-term rental assistance contract, providing long-term affordability while maintaining and strengthening resident rights.
